	For Dentists Do you want to get involved with Share the Care? Here's how it's done.

For Dentists
Share the Care matches volunteer dentists with children needing urgent dental care. Participating dentists say that the "Share the Care" program is working well; over 875 children from low-income families have been treated. Families have been very appreciative and a high percentage (94%) of appointments have been kept. School nurses tell about the children returning to school after dental appointments and smiling for the first time in months.

There are currently 271 dentists in "Share the Care" but we still have to turn some children away. Additional general and specialized dentists are needed all over the county. We invite you to join your colleagues in this successful and important endeavor. As one dentist commented, "If every dentist in San Diego County saw one child, there would be many more smiling children."

As a participant, you can specify what age group of children you are willing to see, as well as how many children you are willing to serve in a month.
